APNs (Apple Push Notification Service)

Plain-English definition, in the context of supervised iPhone protection.

By Yisrael Schneider, Manager ·

Apple's push-notification infrastructure, also used to deliver MDM commands to iPhones. When our MDM server wants to push a new app to your device or update a policy, it sends the command through APNs. APNs authenticates our server's signature before relaying — ensuring only our authenticated MDM can issue commands to your enrolled device.
