HomeHow It Works

From order to protection

The entire supervised iPhone process, explained in four steps — no setup on your end, no technical knowledge required.

Choose Your Plan

Every Kosher iPhone plan starts here. During checkout you tell us which iPhone model you want, how strict the app whitelist should be, and who in your household the phone is for. We also collect contact details so our configuration team can reach you if anything needs clarifying — but there's almost never anything to clarify, because the defaults are dialed in.

Three plans cover 99% of families: **Essential** for a single supervised device with a curated app set, **Premium** for a single device with on-demand app requests handled within hours, and **Family** for multiple devices on one account with coordinated policies.

Every plan includes ongoing management, free replacement SIM configuration, and the entire **KolBo portfolio** (siddur, zmanim, brachos, minyan finder, 768,916 shiurim, 3,424-volume digital library, and more) pre-installed and ready to go.

We Configure

This is the part most other "kosher phone" solutions skip — and it's the part that actually matters.

Your new iPhone gets enrolled in our Mobile Device Management (MDM) system before we power it on. We put it into **Supervised Mode** — a distinct device state that only MDM-enrolled iPhones can enter. Supervised Mode is what unlocks the level of control your family needs: the ability to remove Safari entirely, disable App Store and AirDrop, block VPN and profile installation, and whitelist exactly which apps run.

Once supervised, we load your **approved app whitelist**. This is where your preferences matter: some families want a locked-down bochur setup with only phone, messages, contacts, and siddur. Some want a working professional setup with email, calendar, Google Maps, and banking apps added in. The whitelist is tailored to you during onboarding.

We then install the **KolBo ecosystem** (siddur, zmanim, minyan finder, digital library, shiurim library, and the rest of the tools) — all of it already signed into your account and ready to use from the moment you unbox.

You Receive

You unbox a pre-configured iPhone. Sign in with your Apple ID — that's it. There's no profile to accept, no "allow remote management?" prompt, no hidden setup.

Most customers have their phone usable within five minutes. If you're porting a phone number from a flip phone or another iPhone, our shipping email walks through the SIM swap. We can also ship with an eSIM pre-provisioned if your carrier supports it.

Everything pre-loaded during configuration is waiting for you: daily zmanim for your location, the Daf Yomi on today's page, the current Tehillim split, your community directory. Nothing to download. Nothing to research.

We Manage

This is the piece that separates us from "set it and forget it" filters.

Every week we push updated content filter lists. Every day, our management console monitors the device for unauthorized profile installs, jailbreak attempts, or attempts to remove Supervised Mode — none of which can succeed, but all of which get flagged so we can intervene.

**Request a new app**: text us, and if it's approved, it's pushed to your device the same day. The approval happens on our side — your device doesn't have to do anything.

**Lost or stolen phone**: one text to our team and we remotely lock the device. The phone stays locked to our MDM system even through a factory reset — it cannot be re-used by a bad actor.

**Upgrades**: when Apple releases a new iOS, we test it against our MDM policies before green-lighting it for your device, so you never end up with a breaking update on a Friday afternoon.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does configuration take before the phone ships?

Typically 1–2 business days after order. Essential and Premium plans ship next-day from configuration; Family plans (multi-device) can take 2–3 business days to batch.

Can I use my existing iPhone, or do I have to buy one from you?

Most plans include a new iPhone. Existing-device enrollment is available for some plans but requires a factory reset before supervised enrollment — Apple requires this. Contact us to confirm your device is eligible.

What if my family adds a new phone later?

Add it to your existing Family plan at any time. Configuration and shipping follow the same 1–2 day turnaround.
