Content Filter

Plain-English definition, in the context of supervised iPhone protection.

By Yisrael Schneider, Manager ·

A system that sits between the device and the internet, intercepting traffic and blocking connections to known-bad destinations (usually via DNS or a proxy). Most "kosher phone" plans sold today are built on content filters. Filters work until the user bypasses them — by installing a VPN, changing DNS, or installing a new browser. Unlike content filters, Supervised Mode + MDM doesn't filter traffic — it removes the bypass surfaces entirely.
